New donations to Choralia allow to obtain an “ads-stop” code valid on Choralplayer

Many users submitted requests to Choralia, willing to obtain that advertisements displayed by the “Choralia mp3 player” could be removed if a subscription fee were paid. So far, this was not possible because Choralia (the producer of mp3 audio files for choir training) and the mp3 player (a software that is licensed by a third party) were (and still are) independent entities.

This is now possible, thanks to the introduction of Choralplayer, which allows to better represent the relationship between Choralia and Choralplayer. This allows to support interactions between the two entities that were impossible (or difficult to manage) before Choralplayer was introduced.

So far, users of Choralplayer had to de-activate any ad-blockers installed their computer so that they can pay the software license fee to the author of the Choralplayer software. The software license conditions require that ads are displayed otherwise the use of the software is not permitted, therefore the use of an ad-blocker is illegal.

However, an agreement has been now negotiated between Choralia and the author of the Choralplayer software, so that the displaying of ads may not be temporarily required for people who make a donation to Choralia. Since May 18, 2022, Choralia users who make a donation automatically receive an “ads-stop” code via email, which allows to use Choralplayer lawfully even if the ads are not displayed.

Users who receive an “ads-stop” code are supposed to copy-and-paste the code into the dedicated box of the Choralplayer window, the click on the “Stop!” button, and the page will reload without any advertisements.

Hopefully this will be appreciated by Choralplayer and Choralia users!
