Choralia’s training aids are made on the basis of reference editions that are publicly available. Some of them are available for free on the internet, while others, especially when they are under copyright, are available through commercial channels (music shops, publishers, etc.).

The reference edition used to make each specific work available on Choralia’s catalogue is listed on this page. There are two main websites providing those available for free: the Choral Public Domain Library (CPDL) and the International Music Score Library Project (IMSLP) (also known as Petrucci Music Library). The specific edition number used on CPDL or IMSLP is always provided on Choralia’s reference edition list.

Please pay attention that, even though you may freely download the reference edition from CPDL or from IMSLP (or from other websites in few cases), this does not necessarily imply that you can freely use the edition for any purposes. If a “Copyright” label is present nearby the title of a certain work on Choralia’s reference edition list, it is quite likely that restrictions on the use of such edition exist in some countries, even if the edition can be freely downloaded. The user is responsible to check the applicable copyright conditions and possible associated limitations in the user’s country.

For editions that are available from commercial channels, the name of the publisher and the catalogue number are provided so that one can precisely purchase the same edition used by Choralia as a reference edition. Please note that alternative editions of the same work may contain differences, sometimes significant, with respect to the reference edition used by Choralia, so you may notice possible mismatches between the alternative edition and Choralia’s training aids. Therefore, when using Choralia’s training aids, it is always recommended to obtain the same edition that was used as a reference edition when the training aids were prepared.
